Keypoint Annotation Services
Professional keypoint and landmark annotation services for pose estimation, facial recognition, and gesture detection models. COCO 17-keypoint format, custom schemas, and 99%+ accuracy guaranteed.
AI and ML Network provides precision keypoint annotation services for teams building pose estimation, facial recognition, gesture detection, and biomechanical analysis AI models.
What We Annotate
Human Pose Estimation
Standard COCO 17-keypoint body landmark annotation (nose, eyes, ears, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles) plus custom skeleton schemas for specialized biomechanical applications.
Facial Landmarks
68-point, 98-point, and custom facial landmark annotation for face recognition, expression analysis, face alignment, and avatar generation models.
Custom Keypoint Schemas
Any number of landmark points on any object type — vehicle control points, industrial part measurement points, animal pose landmarks, hand gesture keypoints, and domain-specific configurations.
Visibility Flags
Every keypoint includes a visibility flag:
- Visible (v=2) — keypoint is visible and labeled
- Occluded (v=1) — keypoint is hidden by another object but estimated position is labeled
- Not labeled (v=0) — keypoint is outside the image or cannot be reasonably estimated
Correct visibility flag assignment is critical for YOLOv8 Pose and COCO-based pose estimation models. Incorrect flags cause training failures and degraded keypoint detection accuracy.
Export Formats
- COCO keypoint JSON
- YOLO Pose format
- Custom CSV/JSON schemas
- Platform-native exports from CVAT, Roboflow, and Label Studio

Frequently Asked Questions
What is keypoint annotation? +
Keypoint annotation is the process of placing precise landmark points on objects in images — such as body joints for pose estimation, facial landmarks for face recognition, or custom points for specialized applications. Each keypoint has x, y coordinates and a visibility flag indicating whether the point is visible, occluded, or absent.
What keypoint formats do you support? +
We support COCO 17-keypoint format for human pose estimation, YOLO Pose format, custom keypoint schemas with any number of landmark points, and facial landmark formats (68-point, 98-point). We can adapt to any keypoint schema your model requires.
How do you ensure keypoint placement accuracy? +
We use strict placement guidelines with visual reference images showing exact keypoint positions for each body part and visibility condition. Our QA process includes inter-annotator agreement checks on keypoint coordinates, visibility flag validation, and systematic review of occluded keypoint handling.
